Admit your mistakes... do not blame others for your downfall / inadequacies / weaknesses.
A great leaders don't create followers, they create more leaders!
Take charge of your attitude. Sometimes just being yourself is not good enough! Change for better.
Lead by example! Cause that is how respect and loyalty are gained!
