Husbands Vs Wives

Psst... psst...

I received the Whatsapp image below from my husband at lunch time today.

And here is my reply to him...

Monday Blues

Psst... psst...

I know most of you would agree with me if I said Mondays are boring and can be depressing. It’s the start of a new week and you’ve got five full hectic days to get through until the weekend. At times like this, all I wanna do is listen to some music and at the same time get my work done.

Since I am a Celcom user, I love tuning to Yonder Music. It is a mobile-only, digital music service that gives users legal access to millions of songs to download and play — commercial free. Play music how you want – Yonder progressively downloads the tracks to your devices as they play, so they are available when you are offline. Additionally, related music is downloaded to your device giving you an amazing experience when you are offline!

So if you are a Celcom user, why don't you download the app and see how cool it is! You can get the app from the iTunes Store / Apple Store. At least to keep your boredom at bay and your Mondays won't be so mundane. Here’s how you can download tracks while you stream at one go http://my.fiveminutesofyourlife.net/p/bOyVC

Kisah Benar

Psst... psst...

Bershopping memang seronok, apatah lagi bila tengah sales, sanggup tinggal suami pergi shopping sensorang. Bila dah sales tu, apa baju pun nampak menarik kan. Haish... singlet kodi pun cantik. Apa lagi cargas la dok mengutip baju kat rak sebab nak try. Terasa la kejap macam minah dalam citer Confessions of a Shopaholic tu kan... berangan much!

Dah setel pilih baju, maka seharusnya seperti manusia-manusia normal, saya pergi fitting baju-baju tu dulu sebelum bayar. Tapi malangnya fitting room penuh pulak! Yang menunggu giliran pun ramai. Tapi... saya sanggupkan jugak la melanguk dekat 15 minit kat tepi fitting room, tunggu giliran. Bila la amoi ni nak keluar. Allo amoi, lu try baju ka jahit baju?

So terpaksa la cuba 3 helai je dulu. Aishhh....

Haish, tak nama pompuan sejati la kan kalau tak buat perangai cam tu. Masa tengah queue pun mata tak habis melilau lagi. Sengsara sungguh.

Setelah beratur 20 minit, akhirnya saya sampai jua kat depan kaunter. Muka berseri-seri penuh semangat nak bayar. Seronoknya, lepas ni almari penuh dengan baju baru. Kedengaran minah kaunter tu cakap "Akak, semua sekali RM375". Saya pun hulur la credit card saya kepada dia. Dia boleh plak cakap "mintak maaf, credit card machine offline". Sambil tunjuk signboard kecik atas meja tulis "Credit Card / Debit Card Offline". Tu laaaa, mata gatal melilau tengok baju-baju, sampai tak perasan kewujudan signboard "Credit Card / Debit Card Offline" tu.

Adoila, mana nak raba duit. Dalam purse ni ada la RM100. Mana nak cukup bayar semua baju kat tangan ni haaa. So dengan lemah longlai saya cakap "Tak pa lah dik, saya amik selai saja ya". Kecewa sungguh, setelah berhempas-pulas beratur berkali-kali kat fitting room lepas tu beratur lama pulak kat kaunter, cuma selai je berjaya beli. Ya, saya repeat, sehelai sahaja! Sakitnya hati.

So, moral of the story - LAIN KALI, BAWAK SUAMI PEGI SHOPPING SKALI!

My Prinz

Psst... psst...

Ini cerita lama diceritakan semula. An old story retold.

Half way up the hill, I stopped for a while to inhale the fresh unpolluted air. Far beyond the horizon was a bewitching view of sky-scrapers and buildings that decorated the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur. As I was marvelling the scenery, I heard hoof-beats coming fast towards me. That must be the other riders. My horse, Prinz, started prancing softly, feeling excited at the company that will be arriving soon. I kind of agreed with Prinz. It definitely was quiet and lonely up here.

As the other riders gathered around me, we continued our ride up to the top of the hill. On the way up, as I was stealing a look at Prinz, I felt a jolt of sensation in me. The sweat that glistened his well-built body, the cool breeze blowing his mane, his steady speed that brought an adrenaline rush to me. Simply marvellous! We cantered and jumped over every obstacle. It definitely was the best ride ever in my lifetime. Some riders were already few meters ahead of me and some were left far behind. It was like in a "cowboy scene". I knew Prinz loved this kind of excitement so much that I thought I saw a smile on his face.

As I was about to reach the top of the hill, I urged my horse to a slower pace and we trotted all the way up. As we reached the top and as we waited for the remaining riders to arrive, we wondered at the brilliant sight of the city. The sun was about to set and soon it would be dark but the city was already gleaming and sparkling with beautiful colorful lights. The remaining riders finally arrived and I got off my horse to check on his hooves. Grateful that Prinz did not hurt himself when he was in the middle of an 'excitement' few moments ago, I patted his shoulder and he responded with a neigh. Looking up I saw all riders were lost in their own thoughts. Prinz neighed again, breaking the rather dramatic silence.

We took our time to descend the hill. Most of the time we trotted and stopped only at FRIM Botanical Garden for a short rest. We reached the ranch around 1900hrs and quickly unsaddled the horses. After I bathed Prinz, I led him to his stable where his food and drink had already been prepared. I squatted down watching him savour the fresh grain. I could never describe how proud I was to have him. Powerful that he was but yet so gentle on the other side. I found myself so much more in love with him. Day by day it grew stronger. Until one day Prinz had fallen terribly sick. We had no choice but put him to sleep.

It's true then - Good Things Never Last.

Wake Up Call

Psst... psst...

It is a bright sunny morning. I think I’ll take my brand new Ferrari for a spin around town. Yeah, why not? Why not bring the crazy horse out and let the silver BMW rest today.

Call up my two favourite friends cum business partners and tell them to wait for me at the Paradise Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur. We’re gonna have fried lobsters, steamed crabs and fried squids with chili for lunch.

My Nokia N95 rings as I am about to exit the house. I hear my Aussie property agent’s voice on the other line, saying words in thick Australian slang. It is about a condo I have long planned to buy in Sydney, Australia. After a moment of discussion through the phone, I make up my mind and instruct him to secure the condo. There, the AUS$2 million condo is finally mine!

I get in the car and drive off with the roof-top down and Fergie’s London Bridge on the stereo. As I reach the Paradise Restaurant, the two are already there waiting for me, with all foods ordered and ready on the table. One is an anak Dato and the other one is a Tan Sri himself.

So most of the time we talk about our business strategies and the possibility of venturing into the China and New Zealand’s markets, while enjoying the lobsters, crabs, squids and the apple juice. What transpire from the meeting are as ‘delicious’ as the foods we are swallowing. I am so grateful for I have two  good reliable partners to keep my business growing.

A few minutes later, I order a banana split and some fruits to settle my poor overstuffed tummy. Good thing about the restaurant is that it provides a good massage treatment here for a good after-meal relaxation. Of course, you need an extra bill to pay. Since my business is running well, why not!

So I tell them two to carry on talking and discussing about the business strategies while I close my eyes and enjoy the light music… and the massage. Da… daa… da…daa… ahhhh those lovely tunes and sweet melodies just ‘rock’ me to sleep.

Then suddenly…

“Alo cik adik, wake up! Tido pun boleh senyum-senyum ke? Bangun la, dah pagi, breakfast dah siap… Nanti lambat sampai keje … takut stuck in the traffic jam.… nayaaaa saja kalau kena pecat nanti!”

Hmmm… if only life is as beautiful as the one I had before the wake-up call… ahhhh (sighs)!

It's Botok Not Botox!

Psst... psst...

Let's see how many of you love botok, please raise your hands!

Now, how many of you love botox? None? Or shy to admit?

Botok is very popular in the state of Johor. According to Wikipedia, it is a traditional Javanese dish made from shredded coconut flesh which has been squeezed of its coconut milk, often mixed with other ingredients such as vegetables or fish, and wrapped in banana leaf and steamed. It is best eaten with white rice.

Not many restaurants or warongs sell botok-botok in KL nowadays. So, sometimes, when I crave for some, I have no choice but to prepare them myself. Here’s how I do it...

As the main features, you must have pieces of seer fish (ikan tenggiri), tapioca leaves (pucuk ubi kayu) and pudding leaves (daun pudding). You may add some other types of leaves too such as daun kaduk and bebuas. Next, you need shallots, garlics, ginger, salt, sugar, fine grated coconut and fish curry powder to make the spice paste. Prepare a bowl of tamarind juice and also a few large pieces of clean, roasted banana leaves which will be used for wrapping.

Tips: For the fish to marinate better with the spice paste, it is best to use fish that is not so fresh.

Shred all the sweet potato leaves and pudding leaves into large pieces and mix them well. Pound the spice paste ingredients – shallots, garlics, ginger, salt, sugar, fine grated coconut and fish curry powder – together until it becomes very fine and soft. Make sure you mix it well.

Smear the fish pieces with the spice paste and leave it to marinate for about 10 minutes. Spread one layer of mixed shredded leaves all over the banana leave. Then, put the marinated fish on top of the shredded leaves. Then again, cover the marinated fish with another layer of the mixed shredded leaves. Pour some tamarind juice over it before you wrap it up.

Tips: To ensure that the banana leave will not break during the process, it is better to double the layers.

Then you steam them using a steamer for about 30 minutes (half-cooked). Store those half-cooked botok-botok inside the refrigerator for like 2 hours, overnight if possible. Before serving, steam them again for like 3 hours and eat them along with hot white rice. Botok-botok can last for 3 to 4 days if kept refrigated. You just need to keep reheating it. Selamat mencuba!

Potent

Psst... psst...
Ever wonder why women love make-up? Well, the answer lies in the brain. According to a 2-year research done by Japanese scientists, women anticipate a rush of anticipation and optimism as they prepare to apply make-up. Once they had applied the make-up, women experience positive emotions and higher self-esteem.

I seldom wear make-up. I only apply it on when I have to attend special occasions like weddings, company annual dinners and parties. Other than that, I like to leave my face fresh and clean. But then again, without lipstick on, my lips will look really pale.

So, one day as I was checking on my Facebook, I came upon a short video clip showing a pretty girl giving a tutorial on how to apply make-up the right way. Then I saw her putting on this one pale pink coloured lipstick, which I thought would suit any make-up free faces.

The next day, I went for a hunt. A hunt for a pale pink coloured lipstick at the Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur. I came across many products but none looked like the one I saw in the video clip. I almost gave up when I saw an Estee Lauder booth at the concourse area. Ok, just one last store then go home, I told myself. So, I quickly went inside and described the kind of lipstick I wanted to one of its salesgirls. She then gave me a few samples to try. Finally, I got it! Among all the samples, I found the colour that looked almost the same as the one I saw in the video. Yay!!!

So, tadaaa.........
If you wish to search for it at any Estee Lauder outlet, just ask for ENVY POTENT. However, if you're too lazy to go out from your house, here's how you can shop on your favourite Estee Lauder products online http://my.fiveminutesofyourlife.net/p/bENn6 .

A Walk In A Garden

Psst... psst...

Few days back, my hubby and I went to The Gardens at MidValley Megamall, to have something to eat. At the same time, just to have some quality time together. And yes, our quality times are mostly spent outside, not so much at home.

It was a lovely feeling as we both slowly toured around the mall, side by side, hand in hand, cheek to cheek... ok ok, cheek to cheek didn't happen at all. Just a made-up. But try to picture the situation yourself in a dreamy mode!

So, back to that lovely feeling.... yeah, a beautiful feeling indeed (remember to put your dreamy mode on!). It's like walking in a garden covered with fresh green grass (shoes $$), colourful flowers (handbags $$) and lush trees (dresses $$) and... with the butterflies (accessories $$) flying everywhere.

Then there's a couple of deers peeking (home appliances $$) through trees, some rabbits (jewellery $$) hopping around playing with each other and... there... a group of blue birds (watches $$) perched in the trees chirping beautiful melodies. This garden must be huge, it contained almost everything!

I turned to my husband and said, "Ain't it beautiful, baby?"

He nodded in agreement and replied softly, "Yes, indeed the garden is so beautiful! But no baby, we're not gonna pluck those flowers or capture one of the butterflies and bring them home though. They are much better untouched, well, you know, in order to preserve the beauty of the garden. Touching them may cause damage, not only to them or the garden, but also to you and ..... to me".

He smirked. I sighed.

So, there you go, my story of going to the mall but not doing any shopping at all. Pfftttt....!!!

Elephants

Psst... psst...

Deepavali fell on Tuesday, so I figured if I took a leave from office on Monday, it would be a long break for me. So, I applied for that leave and got it approved. Husband agreed to the idea and he also took a leave on the same day.

On Friday, the week before Deepavali came around and a day after I applied for leave, we both started planning on what we should do and where should go.

Wife: Should we do hiking somewhere somewhere?
Husband: No, we need energy to do that. Too old now.

Husband: Ahhh, I know, how about just lepak at Ipoh and jalan-jalan cari makan?
Wife: Sounds good but... Ipoh? What a boring place.

Wife: Ok, then should we go to Banjaran Hotspring and just relax?
Husband: Too expensive, so no.

Husband: How about Sepang Gold Coast?
Wife: Can also but we need to get the ocean view room. If not, rugi la!
(Called Sepang Gold Coast, but they informed thay couldn't guarantee a room will full ocean view for us and suggested that we just walk-in and see-how. So, no to Sepang Gold Coast this time. Didn't want to penat-penat travel jauh-jauh but didn't manage to get the room we wanted).

Wife: ^&^@#%)_*&&*^%"%$@*
Husband: No

Husband: $%*&#=^$&*{?<*#@@
Wife: No

The conversation went on and on like this for like 2 days. It's either I gave a suggestion and he declined or vice versa. Since, we couldn't quite make up our minds, we lost 2 precious days - Saturday & Sunday. We did nothing much on those days except going out for food with friends and watching movies.

But then, not wanting to waste our Monday-leaves just like that, we finally decided to go to Kuala Gandah Elephant Orphanage Sanctuary at Lanchang, Pahang to pay some gajahs a visit.

But too bad, when we were there, the river water was high so no bathing session for the gajahs. Aishhhh! That was supposed to be the main highlight of the visit. Tak pa lah, maybe next time then.
But I did learn a lot of amazing stuff about elephants though, such as:

* People shake hands when greeting some one, elephants do the same thing with their trunks.
* Studies show that when pacts of elephants stomp the ground with their feet, it sends sub-sonic ripples through the ground, which the receiving pact can collect through the sensitive nerves in their feet.
* Elephants are extremely emotional creatures capable of mimicking sounds, feeling sadness, glee, and anger. Kuat merajuk kinda creatures they are!
* Elephants never forget! They have exceptionally good memories. They can remember the path where they first found their food and they will keep going there. So if you build a farm or a structure in the middle of that path, they will just langgar. They will just knock things off their path.

Well, we had quite an enjoyable time there at the sanctuary eventhough we didn't get to skodeng them berendam in the river. The opportunity to learn and understand them was good enough for us and not too bad at all.

By the way, that boy is not related to me, in case you're curious.

We might come here again someday, but this time, I'll make sure I get to see you guys bathe! Mesti cute!

Siri Bercakap Dengan Jin

Psst... psst...

Before I proceed, need me tell you that my husband is a Chinese and sometimes dia ni jenis lambat pikap kalau borak hal hal orang Melayu. So one night, as we were searching for what to watch on the TV, we came upon this one channel showing a documentary about jinn, ghosts and paranormal stuff. My husband suddenly asked me a few questions and the conversation went something like this:

Husband: Well, I thought Chinese and Indian suka bela jinn. Melayu pun ada ya.
Me: Yeah, you just knew about it? I pun ada jinn.
Husband: *terbeliak mata* (perhaps regretting that he is now stuck with me)
Me: Why? Kenapa muka terkejut? Betul la, ramai Melayu ada jinn. I also ada maaaa...
Husband: When? How?
Me: Alaaaa... lama dah. Masa muda dulu. Dekat 10 tahun dah ada jinn.
Husband: *terkebil terkebil* (perhaps thinking whether he should propose a divorce or not)
Me: *makes a serious face, trying my best not to burst into laughter*
Husband: *frowns, eyes on TV*

After a long 2 minute pause, he asked again. Cuak la tu kann...

Husband: Why didn't you tell me? Is it harmless? Kacau orang tak?
Me: As for mine, it helps me a lot. Once a while, kacau sikit la. Sometimes kena keluar duit when my jinn buat hal.
Husband: If harmless, should be ok kot. *still frowning*
Me: Siap ada nama lagi tau...
Husband: Really? What's its name?
Me: Proton Saga Gen2.
Husband: Huh? *terkebil-terkebil*
Me: Gen = Jinn. Hai laaa..... bertahun dah wife pakai Gen2, takkan tak tau lagi!

Apalagi, saya kena geletek la sampai tak boleh bernafas! Gelak kaw-kaw, the whole neighbourhood might have heard us!

Ha ha ha.... It is always good to pekenakan dia like this.

Kesian.... muka cuak gila!

Now Everyone Can Have A Stress-free Vacation

Psst... psst...

I just wanna tell you that, whenever I go travelling, I don't travel light. If I could, I'd bring the whole house along with me. Yes, I am that kind. Sorry, dear husband.

I have experienced 'oh-my-God' situations like unexpected flight delays or losing personal items during my travelling in the past. Whenever that happened to me, it kinda spoiled my vacation mood and could be extremely stressful.

Until I found this, one day. Tune TrIP - Travel Insurance Plan keeps my worries at bay so that I can truly enjoy my vacations overseas.

Not only will you be protected; your luggage, passports and more are covered too with this travel plan. To know more, here's the link http://my.fiveminutesofyourlife.net/p/bz5K6 .

Seriously Nothing To Write About Today

Psst... psst...

I seriously don't know what to write about today.
When I say I seriously don't know, means I really really really don't know.
It's just that there's nothing much to tell.

Should I write about food I love to eat?
Well no, that's so lame. I mean the kind of food I have been having lately is lame.
What's new with nasi lemak, roti canai, sushi and nasi ayam.

Should I write about my past travel moments?
Nahhh, I have written about them way too many times.
I need a break from writing about my travels and I have not been to a new place for quite a long while.

Should I write about my OOTD?
Nothing extravagant about the clothes I wear daily. It's just jeans and T.
I only wear nicer clothes on special occasions.

Should I write about the things I love doing?
Like what? Watching movies? Lame.
Travelling? Guess you've known about it from my previous post.
Blogging? Just started and... that's it.

Should I write about my cat?
Sleep and eat, that's all he does everyday.
And oh, he meows like every 30 minutes.
If I write about him, it'll be meows throughout my post.

So... I am left with nothing to write about today.
Seriously nothing.
Sad.
